Hey there baseball fans! After 32 years on the faculty at SFSU (1968-2000) I retired early to "spend more time with my first love...BASEBALL!" I love The Game, every aspect of it. I have been a sports writer (Syracuse Herald-Journal), coach, manager, HS pitching coach, umpire and had the rare opportunity to announce games at SFSU (cableTV/FM radio-play-by-play/commentary). My current passions are minor league baseball (especially following the Future Stars) and umpiring and attending Portland Sea Dogs' games here in Maine. I found the perfect fantasy league for me; it is a "lifetime" league; there was only ONE draft and you keep your players for life. You alter your roster with FA pix and trades. At 64, "lifetime" may be an ironic choice. I decided to have a plan, one more time. I drafted young and most of my team this season was still in the minors. That kept me in last (14th) all season and earned me #1 FA slot every week. Some of my seeds are popping up in MLB and in 2010 I might even be able to field a full team of MLB players. Next year (2011) all my rooks will be in MLB and we become competitive for three decades and five years, when I will be 100. I would be glad to swap comments and advice about players. How about we share rosters for suggestions on improvement? PLMK what you would do with my roster (below).
